September is finally here, and summer is just about wrapping up. This said, there are multiple learning opportunities happening all over the province, through artsnb, our partners and many other outlets. The following workshops and events are happening within the next two months and are opportunities you might not want to miss!
AAAPNB – Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick
The AAAPNB is currently promoting two different types of learning opportunities. The first is a workshop on creating an artistic portfolio with Blanche Morin (Atelier Création d’un portfolio artistique avec Blanche Morin). These workshops will take place in three different locations and three separate dates. This workshop will allow artists to learn a very important aspect of the professional artists’ career. A portfolio is one of the first things that will showcase and represent the artist, it is therefore very vital. These one-day workshops will help artists learn the key aspects of the portfolio. Blanche Morin is a consultant, coach and trainer in career management and professional development.
The workshops will take place as follows :
- MONCTON September 30th 2019
- EDMUNDSTON October 2nd 2019
- CARAQUET October 4th 2019
The next program that the AAAPNB is offering is the Continuing Education Program – Professional Coaching Program / Mentorship (Programme de formation continue – Programme d’accompagnement professionnel / Mentorat). This is a mentorship program for new and emerging artists, which allow them to be paired with an established artist. The deadline to apply to this program is September 27th 2019. There is a link to submit your application as an artist seeking mentorship, as well as established artists who might be interested in being mentors.
ArtsLink NB has been busy posting about various workshops and programs happening as well. The first is called Workshop: Business Tips for Artists. These workshops will be taking place in four different areas of the province. The first happened yesterday, September 11th 2019 in Fredericton. These workshops are free, but ArtsLink NB asks that you register at firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure your spot. These are all two-hour workshops, happening from 6pm to 8pm.
The other dates and locations are :
- MIRAMICHI September 17th 2019
- MONCTON September 18th 2019

These fall under the Start to Finish Skills Workshops and this specific one will be led by artsnb’s Program Officer, Sarah Beth. The ArtsLink NB Executive Director will also be there to go over tips and tricks on grant writing as well as help brainstorm funding sources. These are also two-hour workshops and will take place in different parts of the province as well. The workshops are free for ArtsLink NB Members and $ 10.00 for non-members.
