Instead of uploading texts or pictures, some artists might wish to upload videos instead: dance or theatre performances, film excerpts, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This page will guide you in uploading your video online, then submitting it in your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A few things to know before starting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, locate the video file you would like to upload. Today, most digital cameras can be plugged into your computer. From there, you can view your videos, and pick the one you would like to upload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, be very careful about the size of your video. The bigger the file is, the longer it will take to upload your video. The whole process can take a few seconds if you have a very fast Internet access, or several hours if you have a slow service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will review three ways of uploading a video online for free. There are many other tools and websites available, but the solutions below are the most commonly used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Option #1:&nbsp;YouTube<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube is a video-sharing website, and probably one of the most famous online platforms. You can upload for free a video up to 15 minutes long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go\u00a0to YouTube website:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click on \u201cSign in\u201d.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"727\" height=\"40\" src=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_01.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_01.png 727w, https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_01-300x17.png 300w, https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_01-700x40.png 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube uses Google accounts. If you already have a Google account, type your email address and your password. If you don\u2019t have a Google account, click on \u201cMore options\u201d, then on \u201cCreate account\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Every account has its own YouTube channel attached to it.\u00a0If you are using YouTube for the first time, you will be prompted to create your channel. Simply enter your name, then click on \u201cCreate Channel\u201d.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"455\" height=\"286\" src=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_02.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_02.png 455w, https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_02-300x189.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are logged in, click on the Upload icon on the top-right of your screen (framed in red in the picture below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"196\" height=\"38\" src=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_03.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5201\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Before uploading your video, it is important to select the level of privacy of your video on YouTube. Selecting \u201cPublic\u201d will make your video viewable and searchable by everyone. By choosing \u201cPrivate\u201d, only you can view your video. Choose \u201cUnlisted\u201d so your video can be seen by someone who has the exact video link, but will not show up in any search results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"193\" height=\"327\" src=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_04.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_04.png 193w, https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_04-177x300.png 177w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 193px) 100vw, 193px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can then click on the large Upload icon, look for the file you want to upload from your computer, then click on \u201cOpen\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>While the video is uploading,\u00a0<strong>do not close the page<\/strong>. Instead, fill in some information about your video. A title is mandatory, and a description is recommended.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"762\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_05_760.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_05_760.png 762w, https:\/\/artsnb.ca\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/YouTubeEN_05_760-300x143.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 762px) 100vw, 762px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can click on \u201cDone\u201d once you are satisfied with the information you provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When the video is uploaded, YouTube will process it, meaning that it will convert your video to a YouTube format. This process can take a few minutes. However, your YouTube link is already available. The program officer and the jurors will be able to see your work. It is similar to YouTube, but files can be password-protected, increasing the confidentiality of your work.&nbsp;A free account can upload up to 500 Mb every week, with a total space of 25 Gb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go\u00a0to\u00a0Vimeo website:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vimeo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.vimeo.com\/<\/a><\/li><li>If you do not have a Vimeo account, click on \u201cJoin\u201d and fill the form. There are several options available.
