The New Brunswick Arts Board is an arm’s length arts funding agency with a legislated mandate to facilitate and promote the creation of art as well as administering funding programs for professional artists in the province.

Sarah Beth here, I am the new Program Officer at artsnb. Having been here for 3 months now, I think it’s about time I officially introduced myself to our blog readers. 🙂
A few things about me:
– I’ve been a New Brunswicker for almost 7 years now. Before coming here I lived in Boston, Minnesota, Regina and Montreal. Fredericton is definitely the smallest city I’ve ever lived in, but I’ve grown to love it here and hope to stay for a long time.
– In my spare time, I am a violinist, entrepreneur and mom to a precious almost-11-month-old.
Here at artsnb my role is to oversee the applications and jury processes. Grant applications come across my desk first, where I check them for eligibility and completeness. After each grant deadline I assemble a jury of artists to evaluate the applications. I then preside over the meeting of the jury (without influencing the outcome) and finally communicate the results to each applicant. There’s more that goes on behind the scenes, of course, but that’s the main idea!
I am also available anytime to answer questions about our grant programs or the application process. I can even review applications online before they’re submitted.
