ARTSNB WELCOMES A NEW RESEARCH ASSISTANT

We are pleased to announce that Anna Wyllie has joined the team at artsnb for the Summer of 2022! Anna comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience from her studies and from past positions she held in various arts organizations in the province. Welcome Anna!

I am very excited to join artsnb as Student Research Intern for Summer 2022.

My name is Anna Wyllie – I am a queer arts administrator and aspiring economist/data scientist heading into my final year of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at UNB, majoring in Economics and Logistics. I grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick/Wolastoqey territory and have been involved with the arts and music communities here for a decade. I have had the opportunity to work for several NB arts and culture organizations, such as the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Indigenous Tourism Association of New Brunswick, and Connexion Artist-Run Centre, where I have combined my business acumen and analytic skills from my studies with my passion for the arts.

In my free time, I like to dabble in photography, videography, and multimedia arts, and I have a personal passion for literature and cinema. I also have been furthering my interest in data science and have been learning Python and machine learning basics this spring. I am an avid cyclist, hiker, and traveller eager to explore more of the world and expand my horizons.

This summer I will helping artsnb with research pertaining to diversity, inclusion, and equity policies, as well as analyzing the demographic and career makeup of our current juror lists. I will also be helping to edit and improve our program descriptions in order to make them more comprehensible and straightforward. I’m excited to help foster a New Brunswick arts funding system that is more inclusive, community-engaged and data-driven.
