The New Brunswick Arts Board is an arm’s length arts funding agency with a legislated mandate to facilitate and promote the creation of art as well as administering funding programs for professional artists in the province.
Job Title: Program Assistant, New Brunswick Arts Board (artsnb)
Terms: Annual contract (with possibility of renewal), subject to an initial three-month probation period and annual performance evaluations
Hours: Flexible 3 days (about 21.75 hours) per week, permanent position year round
Salary: Between $24,260 and $32,023 depending on experience, plus competitive benefits
Bilingual: Excellent oral, written, and comprehension in English and French
Location: Fredericton office and remote

Education and Experience:
A minimum of five years’ experience in arts administration or a related field;
Or any other combination deemed equivalent.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Program Officers, the Program Assistant will:
Assist with the grant application and assessment processes;
Provide accurate information in English or French to artists and arts organizations applying for grant funding;
Assist in the processing of grant application files, including translation of certain documents from English to French and vice versa;
Assist in assessing the eligibility of applicants and all documents accompanying grant applications;
Assist in organizing peer juries according to established procedures;
Assist in keeping notes on deliberations and decisions made by jurors;
Assist in preparing press releases announcing the results of competitions;
Participate in activities of the Programs and Juries Committee (board level).
Related tasks:
Upon request, conduct research, prepare reports, and perform all duties assigned by the Executive Director or Program Officers;
Required Qualifications:
An ability and comfort working independently and in a highly integrated team;
Outstanding time management skills;
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
A facility with Microsoft Word and Excel;
Ability to translate from English to French and vice versa.
A facility with online technology and virtual communication tools (Zoom);
Strong writing and communication skills.
