artsnb launches two new programs
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Fredericton, August 27th, 2020) – The New Brunswick Arts Board (artsnb) is pleased to announce the launch of two new programs designed to provide New Brunswick artists with more equitable access to artsnb funding opportunities.
The new Accessibility and Equity programs testify to artsnb’s commitment to promoting equity for all New Brunswick artists. The implementation of these measures will allow more NB artists to build capacity through our programming while leveling the playing field for all. Following best practices at the national level, artsnb now offers additional financial support to individuals who face barriers when attempting to carry out their proposed activities, or with the application process itself, through the Access Support and the Application Assistance programs.
“The details of these two programs are heavily drawn from best practices at Canada Council for the Arts as well as other provincial arts boards in Canada. We are very excited about this development in the accessibility of our grant programs and the equitable distribution of our grant funds!” says Sarah-Elizabeth Parker, artsnb Program Officer.
More about these programs
The Access Support program is designed to provide supplemental funding to grant recipients who require disability-related assistance to carry out their proposed activities. The Application Assistance program, on the other hand, provides funding to individuals who encounter disability-related barriers to completing an online grant application; and to Indigenous artists facing language, geographic and/or cultural barriers with the online application process.
