New Brunswick July Festivals

Réanne Cooper, Communications Officer

Summertime is such a great time to get out and enjoy the warm weather, family and friend time and festivals! As we head into the long weekend and first weekend of July, I thought I would share a few festivals happening in our province this upcoming month.

The Inspire Festival, happening from July 8th to 13th in Moncton, was co-founded in 2014 and creates a culture of street art directly in public spaces of this city. The festival will include visual, interactive and live arts, as well as performances. You can check out their Facebook page for more information.

If you are more into theatre, there are multiple theatre festivals happening in the province all summer long! The Buskers on the Bay Festival  from July 16th to the 21st in Saint John is a fun time to see travelling performers of street theatre. The Bard in the Barracks Theatre Festival, in Fredericton, has already started (June 21st to July 7th) and lets you enjoy some time in nature all while featuring unique performances.

Finally, for some classical music, there is the Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival, which takes place July 25th to 27th. This festival boasts of international artists and is in fact the oldest Baroque music festival in Canada, devote to the 1600 and 1760 period.

As we head into this first long weekend of July, you might even want to enjoy a visit at an art gallery. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery has a Family Art Day on Sunday June 30th, which may include musical performances, workshops, free admission and much more.

This is just a very short list of what is happening in our province this month, if you have other suggestions for our readers, be sure to leave a comment on our Social Media posts!

From the artsnb team, we hope you have a great long weekend!
