Meet the new Communications Officer!

As one of the new staff members here at artsnb, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Réanne Cooper, and I have recently joined the team as the new Communications Officer.

Just to share a bit about myself, I was born in Nova Scotia but grew up here in Fredericton, New-Brunswick. I attended school at École Sainte-Anne and later started post-graduate studies at Université Sainte-Anne back in Nova Scotia. I have just graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration – International Commerce and have been involved in various community organizations and boards throughout my studies. I was most active with la Société acadienne de Clare, having served three years on their board. I was also a member of the Conseil des arts de la Baie, a board member for the Festival acadien de Clare and sat on various community committees in the area. These experiences have allowed me to develop a passion for the arts and cultures and I am happy to join the artsnb team to be able to work in this field back here in New Brunswick.

I also love to travel and have been fortunate enough to have done so since a young age. I have gone on four different humanitarian trips: two to Cameroon, Africa, one to New York and my most recent to Bolivia, South America. I’ve also travelled to Europe, visiting England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Monaco. I love learning and living in new cultures and feel very thankful to have visited so many countries already.

As for my personal artistic endeavors, I recently started a small silk-screening business. I created a logo and silkscreen them onto shirts, which I sell. My “beli’eve apparel” logo shirts give back a part of the funds to a nonprofit that installs renewable energy systems in Africa. I have now shifted into doing more unique prints and looking to use recycled shirts and pieces of fabric.

I look forward to this new step in my life and feel so lucky already to be a part of the great artsnb team! I will be here to keep you all updated on everything happening with and through artsnb. You can contact me at (506)259-9776 or at reanne@artsnb.ca
