On July 1st, 2020, artsnb launched a music video based on the song “Find Your Way”, which was viewed online more than 30,000 times in less than a month. The song and video have generated quite a buzz about Indigenous music in New Brunswick, and showcase the talent of several artists, musicians and filmmakers of the province. Here is a brief history of how the song came to life and how it has impacted the career of several of its creators.
The Toronto-based F4A collective facilitates the Site + Cycle project, a residency that combines analogue filmmaking instruction with teachings about site specificity at Artscape Gibraltar Point on the Toronto Islands and at Anima Casa Rural in Mexico. Participants have produced films that explore the regions’ histories, topographies, and vegetation, and shared knowledge of organic plant- based film processes.

Arianna Martinez is a filmmaker and educator living in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is a co-founding member of Strike Pictures, and with them has produced several short films that have screened internationally and have been licensed to CBC for broadcasting.

Living in Moncton, New-Brunswick, Julie Forgues obtained her BFA at Universitéde Moncton in 1995 and her MFA Studio –photography at Concordia University in 1999. She has been a faculty member of the Department des arts visuels of Université de Moncton since 2000 as a photography professor and is the Head of department since July 2016.
